In one Piece 1074, Luffy and the Straw Hat Pirates meet with a group of Vegapunk imposters. The mission to debate how to get off Egghead Island will continue in One Piece episode 1075. Shaka adds that before departing Egghead Island, two crucial tasks must be completed: locating the actual Vegapunk figure and regaining control of the Frontier Dome.
However, the betrayal of one of Luffy’s organizations will be revealed in One Piece 1075, so it’s more than just those two things Shaka explained that are the problem.
In One Piece chapter 1075, author Eiichiro Oda revealed who in Luffy’s crew had been working behind the scenes to cause the system to explode in chapter 1074. Pythagoras noticed this in his search for the origins of Vegapunk.
So who is this mysterious person who deceived Luffy and his crew? I’ve written my thoughts on One Piece 1075 for you to read.
Several online communities consider Vegapunk Shakalah, who defected from Luffy’s crew, as a traitor. Chapter 1074 strongly suggests that Pythagoras is the traitor in Luffy’s party, and the grounds for this may be found in the instructions given by Oda sensei.
Theories abound that Lilith was behind the disappearance of the pol cipher ship from the global government that was due to arrive on Egghead Island. Then, in chapter 1074, if you look closely, you’ll see two people missing from when Luffy and the straw hat crew meet with Vegapunk in the wrecked control room.
On the following page, we see that Pythagoras is off on his own in search of Vegapunk, but it’s clear that he and Lilith are the protagonists. Lilith followed Pythagoras as he left alone and noticed a shadow following him down a dark alley. Compared to this, Pythagoras’ actions in various One Piece panels give off a sinister vibe. Pythagoras’s mythical background includes the alleged murder of one of his students.
Some have speculated that Eiichiro Oda would incorporate the ancient Greek mathematician Pythagoras into the One Piece universe. Because Pythagoras is a Vegapunk clone and the personification of wisdom, he may decide to save himself and credit his decision to his discernment. Also, Pythagoras betrayed his gang and rejoined the global government after the death of the original Vegapunk. Especially now that Kizaru and the Gorosei are going to visit Egghead Island.
